Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has appealed to all Libyan stakeholders to resolutely commit themselves to settling their differences by peaceful means and to work toward national dialogue and reconciliation.
Underlining her deep concern about the continued insecurity and instability in the North African country, Dlamini Zuma said in a statement here that she was “closely following the latest developments in Libya”.
She reaffirmed AU’s support for efforts to stabilise the security and political situation, strengthen state authority throughout the national territory and ensure early completion of the ongoing transition.
In that respect, Dlamini Zuma stressed the need for all concerned to cease all activities that further complicate the situation.
In the same statement, issued late Thursday, the Chairperson reiterated the AU’s commitment and readiness to support the efforts of the Libya people and government to complete their democratic transition and address the other challenges facing them.
