Mauritius: 2 new airport hangers opened in Mauritius

New airport hangers in Mauritius - Two of the five aviation hangers, recently build at the Mauritius international airport, became operational Monday, PANA reported here.


The chief executive officer of the Airport Terminal Operations Ltd (ATOL), Bruno Mazurkiewicz, said the new hangers can host both standard aircraft and large passenger jets.

Airport manager Serge Petit, said the two hangers will be used for long-term plane parking.

Meanwhile, the new airport terminal, currently under construction in Mauritius, will cost US$ 33 million, according to sources, which indicated that all landing ground facilities, including new bright beacons, have been installed while the tarmac had been widened by 150 metres to ensure more operational safety.
