Football - Nigeria wallops Botswana 9-0. Ahead of next month's CAF Under-17 football championship in Morocco, Nigeria on Monday defeated Botswana 9-0 in a preparatory friendly played in the country's southern city of Calabar.
It was the second time in as many days that Nigeria would beat Botswana, having won 3-0 in their first friendly on Saturday.
With the massive victory, the Nigerian team, known as the Golden Eaglets, remained unbeaten in 23 matches.
Eight teams will feature in the 2013 CAF U-17 Championship, slated for 13-27 April.
They are host Morocco, Gabon, Tunisia and Botswana in group A, and Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria and Ghana in group B.
Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria are the most successful teams in the competition, having won it twice each.
