Accra, Ghana - Montenegro on Wednesday beat Ghana 1-0 in a friendly football match played the Stadium Pod Goricum in Podgorica, Montenegro.
A first minute penalty converted by Dejan Damjanovic was what separated the two sides in the match used by Ghana's coach Kwesi Appiah to assess his team, which is preparing for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Ghana Black Stars fought hard but lacked the necessary punch to find the net, according to the live telecast of the match in Ghana.
Appiah hopes to use the friendly matches to select his final 23-man squad for the Brazil tournament.
The next friendly match is against the Netherlands in Rotterdam on 31 May.
