Lusaka, Zambia - A Catholic Priest at Charles Lwanga College of Education in Monze, western Zambia, has allegedly committed suicide, PANA quoted the local media as reporting Wednesday.
Police in Monze confirmed that Father Frederick Kabwe, 57, who is also the Principal of the College, allegedly hanged himself using a scarf, the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) reported.
Police further explained that Father Kabwe tied the scarf to a burglar bar of a window in his bedroom and was found dead in a kneeling position. The incident is believed to have happened in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police officers who rushed to the scene said they did not spot any physical injuries on the Cleric's body, indicating that no foul play was suspected.
Police say they are investigating the cause of the suicide as the Priest did not leave any suicide note.
