Banking - Ecobank-Liberia says it has tightened its control system against burglary and fraud.
The Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Kola Adeleke told news conference last Friday in Monrovia that due to mechanisms put in place, fraud rate has reduced drastically and it continues to reduce by the day.
Mr. Adeleke said in December 2012, January and February 2013, there has been no theft, burglary or fraud at the bank because, according to him, 'we tightened our control system and if there is any attempt, we will deal with you as though it has happened.'
He said the bank continues to face challenges such as burglary which he admitted has resulted into operational losses.
'We are focusing more on electronic banking which will reduce fraud and operational losses. We will install CCTV cameras and burglary alarms at all of our braches; this will help to reduce theft in our bank,' Adeleke said.
He indicated that during 2013, his administration will ensure a zero tolerance for operational losses.
