Forum on Fulani culture - An international forum at which participants will exchange views and share experiences on the Fulani culture will be held in January 2014 in Mopti, 670 kilometres away from the Bamako, Mali, PANA learnt from organziers who attended a preparatory meeting just ended in Mopti.
The organizers said the forum is aimed at promoting the Fulani cultural values.
Initiated by the International Association Tabital Puulaaku, the forum, which will bring together official delegations from Mali, Senegal and Mauritania, will discuss issues related to transhumance (the seasonal migration of livestock, and the people who tend them, between lowlands and adjacent mountains), grazing methods, peace, solidarity and African development.
During its last general assembly which took place in January in Bamako, the Association adopted an action plan which includes the holding of a sub-regional forum.
