Information and communication technology - Kogi Deputy Governor Yomi Awoniyi has attributed his ability to successfully manage the state while Gov. Idris Wada was away on medical treatment abroad to information and communication technology.
Awoniyi said in a statement issued by his press secretary, Mr Michael Abu, on Wednesday in Lokoja that the advent of Information and Communication Technology made the task of governance easier for him while Wada was away.
He said he was constantly in touch with the governor to receive directives that helped place the state on sound pedestal in administration, adding that the process made governance less challenging for him.
Awoniyi described the reception accorded to the governor on his return by the people after surviving a motor accident last year as wonderful and remarkable.
He said that Gov Wada is a man of faith, whose rate of recovery is a testament to the burning desire he had for the rapid transformation of the Kogi.
'Though the governor had a broken leg in the accident, but has a sound mind which helped greatly in the governance of the state,' he said.
He appealed to the people of the state to join hands with the governor in his transformation agenda.
Awoniyi, who commended the zeal with which Wada pursued the rice programme initiative in the state, said that the impact of the programme had attracted the attention of the Federal Government.
