EU donates observation aircraft to Mali's National Civil Aviation Agency

Observation aircraft - The European Union ( EU) has donated to Mali's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) an observation aircraft for the security of airport hubs throughout the country, PANA learnt Tuesday from official sources.

The donation was made at a ceremony chaired by the Malian Minister of Equipment and Transport, Gen. Abdoulaye Koumaré, and held at the Sénou Bamako air base.

Ambassador of the EU to Mali Richard Zink also attended the ceremony.

The EU also donated 4 pick-up trucks, night vision and classic binoculars as well as kits to help in the fight against computer fraud.

This donation is the last in a series that included 190 vehicles for the internal security forces and justice, various law enforcement equipment, 280 camels for the Camel Corps units of the National Guard, and two prisoner transfer vehicles for the central prison in Bamako.

The donations are aimed at strengthening the capacity of law enforcement and anti-terrorism units as well as enhance airport security.
