Belgium: Mrs. Sabine Laruelle in Burundi for Belgian Week celebrations

Bujumbura, Burundi - Belgium’s Minister of Middle Classes, Small- and Medium-size Businesses, Agriculture and Liberal Workers, Mrs. Sabine Laruelle, is expected in Burundi Monday for a working visit, diplomatic sources here told PANA.


The visit is part of celebrations marking the ‘Belgium Week’ which officially began Monday with economic and cultural activities,

The Belgian delegation, which will be made up of 40 businessmen, will stay in the African nation from 25 February to 2 March.

While in Burundi, the visiting businessmen will explore areas of business cooperation with their counterparts in Burundi, the Belgium embassy in Bujumbura indicated.

The visitors and their hosts will attend a seminar on the World Bank report “Doing business” in Burundi.

Belgium, Burundi's colonial masters, has been initiating events aimed at enhancing the bilateral cooperation between the two countries through business opportunities involving Belgian and Burundian businessmen.
