Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Africa and South America - Congo President Denis Sassou Nguesso left Brazzaville on Thursday for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, where he will attend the 3rd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Africa and South America, scheduled for 22-23 Feb in the Equatorial Guinean capital.
During the meeting, the leaders of South American and African countries will discuss how to strengthen economic relations.
The first Africa-South America summit was held in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2006 where the groundwork for cooperation between Africa and South America was laid through the adoption of a Declaration and a Plan of action recommending the enhancement of cooperation between the two parties.
