US Government spend 100 million dollars on health programmes - At least USD 100 million are spent annually by the US Government in health and demining programmes in Angola, announces the Ambassador to the African country, Christopher J.McMullen.
Out of this amount, USD 80 million were spent on the health sector, through programmes of fight against malaria, poliomyelitis, HIV/AIDS and other illnesses and the rest in the demining works done by the Norway's People to People Aid.
The ambassador said so when assessing his three-day visit to the Northern Malanje province, adding that there is a too strong partnership with the health sector and the US Government seek other co-operation areas for investment.
During his visit, the US diplomat met with the provincial governor, Norberto dos Santos "Kwata Kanawa", the delegates of the parties MPLA, UNITA and CASA-CE in Malanje province, as well as the local Archbishop, Dom Benedito Roberto.
