Tunis, Tunisia - Four persons, including three members of the Tunisian security forces, were killed early Sunday in the town of Jendouba, north-west Tunisia, in an ambush by a group of gunmen suspected to be terrorists, the Home Affairs Ministry announced.
The deadly incident occurred around 1 a.m. local time Sunday in the town of Ouled Manaa some 150 km from the nation's capital,Tunis, and 50km from the border with Algeria.
Following the incident, Tunisian security forces have been deployed to the area.
According to the radio station Chems FM, the armed terrorists were dressed in the uniform of the security forces.
The attack is believed to be a retaliation for two counter-terror operations carried out recently by Tunisian security forces around Tunis.
During the operations, seven members of a terrorist cell were killed while six others were arrested.
