CEN-SAD special Summit - Leading a high-level official delegation, the Sudanese leader, Omar Al-Bashir will depart here Friday for N'Djamena, Chad, to take part in a special summit of Heads of State and Government of member countries of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD).
The official Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported Thursday that President Al-Bashir will be accompanied to the two-day summit by his Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ali Karti, Presidential Affairs Minister, General Bakri Hassan Salih, and Minister for Environment, Forest and Physical Development, Hassan Abdul Gadir Hillal.
The Summit will discuss the adoption of the revised Charter for the CEN-SAD and review security issues in the Sahel-Sahara region.
Founded in February 1998, the 28-member CEN-SAD seeks to establish an economic union based on a comprehensive community development strategy.
