Congolese pharmacists donate US$113,000 drugs to CAR

The umbrella association for pharmacists in Congo has donated drugs and other pharmaceutical products worth 55 million CFA Francs (US$113,895) to the Central African Republic (CAR), which has been wracked by sectarian and political violence since last year.

The association made the donation to CAR's interim President Catherine Samba-Panza, who paid a two-day visit to Brazzaville, the Congolese capital, over the weekend.

The donation followed a campaign, tagged 'SOS Centrafrique', which the association launched on 15 Dec. 2013.

Mrs. Samba-Panza has since returned to her country, where Christian and Muslim militias have continued to clash, with deadly consequences, despite several interventions.
