Fake nurses Rwanda - At least, four female nurses have been arrested in Rwanda with forged certificates, police sources said here on Tuesday.
The Rwanda police spokesperson in the Rwandan western province, Urbain Mwiseneza, said that the nurses were arrested after they were found with forged certificates, particularly at the Mugonero hospital, in the western part of the country.
The arrests were effected days after the Rwandan Health minister, Dr. Agnès Binagwaho, announced the verification of certificates and sanctions for any health professional found guilty of using fake documents.
“Forging of diplomas by doctors in Rwanda has become a growing phenomenon which deserves being strictly examined,' said Dr. Binagwaho.
Official statistics say that Rwanda has a ration of one doctor to 18,000 petients and one nurse to 1,476 patients.
