Brussels, Belgium - Out of the 1,644 asylum-seekers who arrived in Belgium in January 2013, 10% are Guineans and 6.5% come from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to statistics from the General Refugee and Stateless People Commission, the Belgian body in charge of refugee management.
According to the report, the number of asylum seekers in Belgium dropped by 24% compared to January 2012.
Out of these applications, 630, or 38%, are multiple asylum applications, with the applicants submitting their documents more than once.
