A suspected drug trafficker from Nigeria has been arrested at the international airport in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, for being in possession of 4 kg of heroin with a street value of 120 million CFA Franc, PANA learnt Friday from police sources here.
This brings to four the number of traffickers arrested at the airport.
On 17 Jan., the Police also arrested an Indonesian in possession of 6 kg of heroin with a street value of 190 million CFA Francs.
Between November and December last year, another Nigerian, accompanied by a Cameroonian smuggler on a flight from Bujumbura (Burundi), were arrested with 7 kg of the same substance, valued at 210 million CFA Francs, according to police records.
Drug trafficking at Douala international airport has been a major concern recently, the sources said.
