Top-priority projects - Egypt is seeking the help of the World Bank to implement projects it believes will provide better services for citizens. Prime Minister Hisham Qandil said upgrading the railway system and extending drinking water to villages are top-priority projects.
Qandil told WB Executive Director Merza Hasan that his government is working hard to secure basic needs of citizens and enhance services.
The WB can offer financial assistance to support Egypt's budget and contribute to a number of the service projects in poor areas, Qandil said.
Hassan said the WB is keen on helping Egypt in the face of current challenges. Egypt's security is integral to the region's, Hassan acknowledged.
The meeting also focused on benefiting from WB expertise to restore Egypt's stolen fund, said Cabinet Spokesman Alaa Hadidi.
