Nigeria Vs Burkina Faso Johannesburg, South Africa - The winner of the 29th edition of Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday will get a handsome reward of US$ 1.5 million prize money in addition to the trophy and the ticket to the 2013 FIFA Confederation Cup, according to a PANA Correspondent covering the event.
The losing finalists will pocket US$ 1 million and the two losing semi-finalists US$ 750,000 each.
AFCON is a 16-team final competition and qualifying for the final tournament and finishing fourth in the group stage assures a team of US$ 400,000.
For finishing third in the group a team gets US$ 500,000 while losing quarter finalists pocket US$ 600,000.
The total prize money on offer at AFCON is US$ 10 million.
