Olympic Games complex - The Congolese government will spend 397.8 billion francs FCA on the construction of the Kintele Olympic Games complex in the northern part of Brazzaville, as it prepares to host the All-Africa Games in July 2015, PANA learnt from official sources here.
'The cost of the project has been shared out as follows -- sports infrastructures and networks within the complex (220.916.882.890 billion francs CFA), administrative buildings (97.30.559.151 billion francs CFA) and residential village buildings (61.897.616.872 billion francs CFA),' according to the Congolese Minister for town and country planning, Jean-Jacques Bouya.
The Kintele Olympic complex covers an area of 80.43 hectares of land, 20 hectares of which is for road and park networks.
'It will have a 60,055-seat stadium, a 10,140-seat sports hall, facilities for swimming and other water sports, seating 2,028 spectators, hotel, restaurant, an expo centre, Olympic village and heliport,' the minister specified.
Work on the project is expected to end 30 June, 2015, just before the 11th All-Africa Games begin.
