Men's squad to World Volleyball Championships qualifiers picked - Kenya has announced the final 12-man squad to represent the country in the 2014 Volleyball World Championships African Pool U qualifiers, which spikes off in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, 5 Feb.
John Ndung'u is making his debut in the national team, which has Philip Maiyo as captain.
The men's event will feature Kenya, Egypt, Cape Verde, Botswana and Zambia.
Kenya is also hosting the women's Africa Zone qualifiers, which spikes off in Nairobi 23 Feb. with Kenya, Tunisia, Seychelles, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Uganda participating.
Winners of the pools qualify for 2014 World Championships, to be held in Poland (men) and Italy (women) later this year.
Several other African countries are hosting similar qualifiers, where the pool winners will carry the African flag to the World Championships.
