2014 African Nations Championship - Zimbabwe may have lost the chance to lift the 2014 African Nations Championship trophy after losing to Libya in the semi-final on Wednesday, but the southern African nation has said it will use its players at the tournament as the nucleus of its team to next year's Africa Cup of Nations.
Zimbabwe head coach Ian Gorowa said here Thursday that his players have done well at the ongoing CHAN in South Africa, despite their semi-final loss.
He said the players would be blended with some foreign-based ones to form a formidable team for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
'In fact, I will build the 2015 team around these players,' he said. 'These players have done well. If we add other players who are playing outside, I think it will become a formidable side.'
He said the 2014 CHAN had given Zimbabwe a platform to prepare for 2015.
In the third place match at the 2014 CHAN, Zimbabwe will take on Nigeria on Saturday in Cape Town, while Ghana will take on Libya in the final on the same day.
