Balaclava, Mauritius - World kick-boxing champion (under 54kg) Fabrice Bauluck and weightlifter Shalinee Valaydon were named the best sportspersons for 2013 in Mauritius Wednesday night, at the 28th edition of the National Sports Awards in Balaclava, northern Mauritius.
PANA reports Thursday that overall, ten sportspeople have been rewarded.
Sportsman of the year: Fabrice Bauluck (kick-boxing)
Sportswoman of the year : Shalinee Valaydon (weightlifting)
Junior sportsman of the year: Jean-Yvan Pierrot (weightlifting)
Junior sportswoman of the year: Emmanuelle de Beer (tennis)
Most promising sportsman of the year: Timothée Hugnin (triathlon)
Most promising sportswoman of the year: Amélie Boy (tennis)
Coach of the year (individual sports): Jacques Judex Jeannot (kick-boxing)
Team of the year (individual sports) : 4 x 100m relay (athletics)
Coach of the year (collective sports): Lindsay Wilson (volley-ball)
Team of the year (collective sport ): Quatre-Bornes Volley-ball Club (volley-ball)
