Luanda, Angola - Guinean Budget Minister Hediane Mohamed, Thursday began a four-day visit to Angola as part of the strengthening of the financial cooperation between the two countries, official sources in Luanda, the Angolan capital, said. Speaking on his arrival at Luanda International Airport, Mohamed declared that his visit was to reciprocate the visit to Guinea in March by a delegation of senior executives from the Angolan ministries of Finance, Industry, Geology and Mines. Mohamed said the Angolan and Guinean officials would work to identify areas of cooperation in the finance sector.
Referring to the economic situation in his country, he said: 'we are working to stabilize the macroeconomic situation. We want to reduce the rate of inflation, currently estimated at 21 per cent.'
Mohamed disclosed that the Guinean government was also planning to cut the deficit in the balance of payments from 14 to two per cent.
