Ghana-Tunisia in CAN 2012 match

Ghana beats Tunisia 2-1 in extra time to reach semi - Ghana's quest for its first Africa Cup of Nations title in 30 years got a boost on Sunday, when the country sailed into the semi-final of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-1 extra time victory over Tunisia in Franceville, Gabon.

John Mensah put Ghana ahead in the 10th minute, while Saber Khelifa equalized for Tunisia three minutes from the interval.

The scoreline remained unchanged until the end of the proceedings, pushing the match into extra time.

Mensah's goal went into the history books as Ghana's 100th goal at the two-yearly Nations Cup.

Andre Ayew scored the clincher in the 101st minute, to send Ghana into the last four - two matches away from a long-overdue continental title.

Ghana last won the continental title in 1982, when it clinched its fourth title.

Tunisia's problem was compounded when Aymen Abdennour was sent off seven minutes after Ayew's goal.

Ghana will meet Zambia in one of the two semi-finals on Wednesday, while Mali, which earlier beat co-host Gabon 5-4 on penalties in their own quarter-final tie, will take on Cote d'Ivoire.
