Cleaning exercise-Gambia - Over two hundred people from Ngunta village and its surrounding in Niani District, Central River Region north, over the weekend embarked on a massive cleaning exercise in Ngunta village. Addressing the community shortly after the exercise, Abdoulie Sowe, a resident of Ngunta village, underscored the importance of a clean environment. He called on the people of the area to change their attitudes towards the environment. Sowe asserted that a clean environment can prevent bushfire and improve environmental sanitation.

Maimuna Jallow, head of the women's group in the community, commended the women for their large turnout during the exercise and urged them to remain united and strengthen their mutual understanding and cooperation.

Modi Dem and Maimuna Barry, all residents of Ngunta village, used the opportunity to call on the youths to actively participate in the exercise, as it is a national issue. A clean environment, both of them affirmed, always improves health.
