Rwanda through to Cecafa Challenge quarters - Rwanda's dangerman Kagere Meddie struck in each half of the match as Rwanda beat Zimbabwe 2-0 in a Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup match at the Dar es Salaam, National Stadium, to secure a quarter-final spot in the tournament.

Rwanda joins Uganda‘s Cranes as the two teams that had reached the quarter-finals by Tuesday.

Rwanda beat hosts Tanzania 1-0  on Saturday and replicated the feat Tuesday.

Meddie, who was in good form broke the hearts of Zimbabweans in the 25th minute with a long-range shot, catching goalkeeper Chigova George on the wrong foot.

Meddie, latching on a pass from Haruna Niyonzima, scored his second goal and the winner for Rwanda in the 81st minute.
