FIFA Beach Soccer WC - African representatives eliminated - Africa's two representatives have been eliminated from the ongoing FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Ravenna, Italy.

Nigeria and Senegal were kicked out in the quarter-final stage of the 1-11 Sept tournament on Thursday, after they lost to defending champion Brazil and Portugal respectively.

Nigeria struggled hard but could not stop Brazil, winner of the last four editions of the tournament, from winning 10-8 in extra time.

On its part, Senegal - the African champion - lost 3-2 on penalties, after it deadlocked 4-4 with Portugal in regulation and extra time play.

No African team has ever won the global tournament.
