Election-Nigeria: Dakingari Releases N2.1 Billion to Buy Votes, Alleges CPC

Nigeria - The leading opposition party in Kebbi State, the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has alleged that the state Governor and the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) has released N2.1 billion naira to the 21 local government sole administrators to woo votes for the party in forthcoming elections. In a statement issued to Newsmen in Birnin -Kebbi, the special Assistant to the CPC gubernatorial candidate, Abdullahi Zuru said the monies were released "realizing that PDP has lost out in the state and would have indeed lost woefully had the National Assembly Election take place as scheduled".

"We are reliably informed that Governor Dakingari has allegedly decided to dole out a whooping sum of N2.1 billion to his illegally self created sole Administrators with each of the 21 local Government sole Administrators in the state to be given N100m from the local Government joint Account to buy votes," he said.
