Yaoundé, Cameroon - Cameroon's sports and physical education minister, Michel Zoah, on Wednesday named Frenchman Denis Lavagne as the new coach of the the national football team, The Indomitable Lions. Lavagne was until his appointment the coach of Cameroon first division side Cotonsport de Garoua. He would be assisted by Martin Ndtoungou Mpile and Pierre Mbarga as goalkeepers' trainer.

One of the main tasks assigned to them by the sports minister is to qualify the Indomitable Lions for the 2013 African Cup of Nations (CAN).

The Indomitable Lions failed to qualify for the 2012 African Cup of Nations scheduled for Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
