Society - Congo, Benin sign agreement to fight child trafficking - Congo and Benin Tuesday in Pointe-Noire, Southern Congo, signed a bilateral cooperation agreement to fight child trafficking.
Humanitarian organizations say that 1,800 Beninese children, from 11 to 18 years, are living in servitude in Congo.
The agreement was signed by the Congolese Minister of Social Affairs, Mrs Emilienne Raoul, and her Beninese counterpart, Mrs Fatouma Amadou Djibril.
'With that agreement, we have established a tool for the fight against the phenomenon of child trafficking,' Mrs Raoul said.
