Football - Enyimba of Nigeria and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco maintained their lead in groups A and B, respectively, after the third round of matches over the weekend in the league phase of the CAF Champions League.
Enyimba, playing at home, defeated Raja Casablanca 2-0 on Sunday to raise its total points to 7, same as Al Hilal of Sudan which beat visiting Coton Sport of Cameroon 2-1. But the Nigerian team leads on goal difference.
Coton Sport and Raja remain on one point apiece.
In group B, Wydad's 2-2 draw with Esperance of Tunisia meant that the two top teams maintained the status quo, as they remained first and second, respectively, on 5 points each.
Al Ahly's first victory in three matches (2-0 over MC Alger) propelled the Egyptian giant to four points, even though it remained in third place, ahead of MC Alger with only one point.
