Bujumbura, Burundi - President Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi here Friday urged politicians in the country to brace up for the next elections in 2015.

'We make a solemn appeal to all political actors to seize the opportunity and join all the people of Burundi to prepare together and in time the next electoral event slated for 2015,' he said.

Speaking at the official launching of a national campaign aimed at promoting and strengthening democratic culture, Nkurunziza said organizing an election was 'a complex, rigorous and meticulous event.'

Between May and September 2010, Burundi held municipal, parliamentary, senatorial, cantonal as well as presidential elections, which Nkurunziza won for a second five-year term.
