Global Fund against HIV-AIDS - The Global Fund for the Fight against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria will resume activities in Mauritania after 'a successful negotiation between the government and its partners,' according to a statement from the Mauritanian ministry of Health.

The resumption of funding will enable the country receive substantial resources estimated at about US$ 9 million.

Activities of the Global Fund in Mauritania were suspended in 2009 as a result of the misuse of funds.
