Luanda, Angola - The Angolan Ministry of Youth and Sports on Friday paid homage to the national juveniles and juniors teams, which recently won gold and silver medals respectively during the African Handball Championships in Burkina Faso.

The ceremony was presided over by the minister, Gonçalves Muandumba, who highlighted the importance and levels that Angolan sports had achieved.

Muandumba also praised the parents and tutors of all athletes who authorised them to participate in the championships.

In the juveniles category, Angola beat the Democratic Republic of Congo 19-16, whereas in the juniors category Angola lost to the Republic of Congo by 24-25.
