CAN 2012 - Angola keeps Lito Vidigal as coach despite Nations Cup flop - Angola has decided to retain Lito Vidigal as head coach of the national football team, despite failing to qualify the team for the quarter-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The chairman of the Angola Football Federation, Mr. Pedro Neto, announced the decision to keep the coach at a press conference in Luanda on Friday.

The Palancas Negras, as the national team of Angola is known, won one match, drew one and lost one to drop out of the Nations Cup in the first round.

This is in contrast to the situation in 2010 when Angola hosted the continental football extravaganza and reached the quarter-finals, where it lost to Ghana.
