Huambo, Angola - A man has been arrested by the police in Caala Municipality, in Angola's central Huambo Province, after he beat his 24-year-old wife to death, according to the official Angolan Press Agency, ANGOP.

The unidentified man reportedly beat his wife, Anita Fernandes, to death and threw her body into a sewage over the weekend.

The spokesman of the Civil Protection and Fire Service in Huambo, Mr. Francisco Mwepa, confirmed the incident but did not give further details, including what led to the tragedy.
