Tripoli, Libya - The chairman of the Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC), Mustapha Abdeljelil, announced on Monday in Tripoli that his country's relations with South Africa would be based on mutual respect, the Libyan News Agency reported.
The President of the NTC was speaking when Keal Sapong Kieran, the Special Envoy of South African President Jacob Zuma, called on him.
The South African envoy underscored his country's support for the 17 February revolution, which overthrew the regime of Colonel Muammar Kadhafi.
During the meeting, Mr. Kieran informed Mr. Abdeljelil about the desire of his country to provide assistance to injured Libyans and strengthen the physical and psychological capability of those who participated in the revolution by providing them with training sessions in South African capacity building centers.
