Insurance-Ghana - Phoenix Life Insurance Company of Ghana has presented a cheque of Three Thousand six hundred Ghana Cedis (GH ¢3,600) to the beneficiaries of a deceased client, the late Selina Oppong, a newly trained tutor of the Abofour Kyebi M/A JHS in the Offinso North District of Ashanti region. Out of the claim, GH ¢2,160 representing 60% went to her sister, Evelyn Oppong, GH ¢1,080 representing 30% to her mother, Esther Afriyie, whilst the remaining GH ¢360 representing 10% was paid to her husband, Dennis Asare Bediako.
Presenting the cheque to the beneficiaries, Mr. Ernest Osei-Boateng, Senior Marketing Coordinator of Phoenix Life, Sunyani, said though it is not easy to save, workers should take insurance policies to secure their future while working, and after retirement.
He advised a section of the public who have negative perception about insurance policies to disabuse their minds of that notion, and save towards securing their future.
Mr. Ernest Osei-Boateng also disclosed that the deceased client invested a total premium of GH ¢60 for a period of six months before her untimely death, but the family has benefited from her decision to undertake an insurance policy with Phoenix, which would minimize the family's plight.
