Lagos, Nigeria - The number of people who died in the New Year eve's collapse of a building under construction in Nigeria's economic capital city of Lagos has risen to three, rescue officials said.

On Sunday, rescue workers discovered a dead body in the rubble of the building, which collapsed while it was being converted from a bungalow to a duplex.

Head of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Osanyintolu, said altogether, eight persons were involved in the incident, out of which three died, three were seriously injured while two were unhurt.
