Football - Egyptian giant Al Ahly has recorded its first win in the ongoing league phase of the CAF Champions League, beating visiting MC Alger of Algeria 2-0 in the third match on Friday.
The win vaulted Ahly to four points in group B, same as group leader WAC of Morocco and second-placed Esperance of Tunisia.
MC Alger remains glued to the bottom of the table with only one point.
In the continent's second-tier CAF Confederation Cup, Motema Pembe of DR Congo beat JS Kabylie of Algeria 2-0 in their third match.
It was the third successive loss for the former champion, which is now rooted at the bottom of group B.
