Presidential race senegal - Senegalese journo. Coulibaly, drops out of presidential race - Senegalese journalist Abdou Latif Coulibaly has withdrawn from the 26 Feb presidential race in the West African nation due to lack of funds to mount his campaign, he said in a statement obtained by PANA here.

Coulibaly was the candidate of the Alliance Benoo Alternative, which comprises several political parties and civil society movements.

Candidates for the election have until 26 Jan to submit their papers, in addition to paying FCFA 65 million (US$130,000) each.

Incumbent President Abdoulaye Wade is also running in the elections, seeking a third term in office.
