Security: Angolan police detain 20 criminals in 24 hours

Luanda, Angola - Angola's National Police have detained, in the last 24 hours, 20 citizens accused of being involved in several crimes, especially murder and sexual abuse.

The Angolan News Agency (ANGOP) quoted Luanda Police Command spokesman, Chief-inspector Nestor Goubel, as saying that the command recorded three homicides and three sexual abuse cases for which eight people were detained in the municipalities of Cazenga, Ingombota and Maianga.   

Goubel also said that during the same period, the police received about 300 calls on their emergency hotlines, 100 of which they promptly reacted to.

He said the police also removed eight corpses from the streets, mostly of which were victims of car accidents.
