Fifa rankings: Bafana Bafana rise in Fifa rankings

South Africa - Bafana Bafana has moved two places up in the FIFA/Coca Cola World rankings released on Wednesday, 19 October 2011. The move sees South Africa back in the top 50. Previously on position 51, Bafana Bafana is now placed 49th. On the continent, the South African Senior Men's National team has taken one stride and is now eighth, just ahead of Burkina Faso and Morocco. Ivory Coast remains top of the table followed by seven-time Africa champions Egypt. Ghana, Algeria, Senegal, Nigeria, and Cameroon complete the top 10.

3. (33) Ghana

4. (35) Algeria

5. (42) Senegal

6. (44) Nigeria

7. (47) Cameroon

8. (49) SOUTH AFRICA

9. (54) Burkina Faso

10. (56) Morocco

World champions Spain is still leading pack on the World Rankings, closely followed by the Netherlands. Germany, Uruguay and Brazil are all in the top five. Italy, England, Greece, Portugal, Argentina make up the top ten.
