Star striker Osaze Odemwingie, who has missed two international matches after Nigeria's Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia sidelined him over disciplinary issues, is expected back in the team next month, according to local press reports Sunday. Odemwingie, who stars for West Bromwich Albion in the English premiership, was not invited for the team's friendly against Argentina and the African Nations Cup qualifier against Ethiopia. But the Acting Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Musa Amadu, said efforts were being made to bring the matter to an end.

'The Osaze, Siasia case was normal and we believe that the coach has the right to do all within his powers to continue to put the team together and bring the needed discipline for them to move forward,' Amadu said. 'But I want to assure you that Osaze may not be missing during the Super Eagles next game against Ghana in England.'

Nigeria's Super Eagles will tackle the Black Stars of Ghana in Watford, England, 9 August.
