2102 Africa Cup of Nations Malabo, Equatorial Guinea - The deputy chief of Angolan police force, chief commissioner Paulo de Almeida, was due to arrive in Malabo on Monday at the start of a week-long working visit to Equatorial Guinea, co-host of the 2102 Africa Cup of Nations.
Some 150 Angolan police officers are in Malabo, where they have been helping to guarantee security at the ongoing tournament. which is being co-hosted with Gabon.
While in Equatorial Guinea, the police chief will inspect the deployed officers to check their effectiveness in providing security during the tournament, according to the national coordinator of the Angolan Police Force in Malabo, chief superintend Aristófanes dos Santos.
Also on the delegation of the deputy police chief are the national commander for civil protection and fire service, Commissioner António Gingue, as well as other senior officers of the force
Angola, which hosted the 2010 edition of the biennial tournament, is also one of the 16 countries participating in the tournament, which runs through 12 Feb.
