2012 African Women's Championship qualifiers - Ghana trounces Mali 5-0, advances - Ghana's senior national women's football team on Sunday trounced its Malian counterpart 5-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium, in the second leg of the qualifying series for the 2012 African Women's Championship, to be held in Equatorial Guinea in November.
The Black Queens thus finished the two-leg preliminary series 8-0 on aggregate, following a 3-0 first leg victory in Bamako.
Ghana has now advanced into the next round, where it will meet Cameroon over two legs to determine which side reaches the finals of the Championship.
Ghana led 2-0 at half time with goals from Portia Boakye and Safia Abdul Rahman.
Rahman and Boakye again scored to make it 4-0 before Florence Okoe completed the tally.
