2012 Olympics - Following the failure of the Super Eagles to qualify for next year's Nations Cup, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has vowed to ensure the olympic football teams qualify for the 2012 Olympics. This was part of the resolutions reached by the Executive Committee of the Federation after an Emergency Meeting today at its National Secretariat in Abuja.
The Committee affirmed that "everything must be done to ensure that the Senior Women's Team (Super Falcons) and the U-23 Men's Team (Dream Team V) qualify for the Football Tournaments of the London 2012 Olympic Games."
The Technical Sub-Committee was directed to fast-track the process for the employment of a National Technical Director, in accordance with the criteria prescribed by world football-governing body, FIFA.
Also, the Committee mandated the Technical Sub-Committee to hold a meeting this week and come up with recommendations on the way forward for Nigerian football.
The Executive Committee regretted the failure of the Super Eagles to earn a spot in next year's African biggest football show.
