Accra, Ghana - Ghana’s women national team was on Saturday kicked out of the London 2012 Olympic Games qualifying series by Ethiopia despite winning the second leg tie 2-1 in Accra. The Ghanaian team, called the Black Queens, who lost the first leg 0-1 in Ethiopia, went out on the away goals rule after their victory on Saturday brought the aggregate score to 2-2. The Ghanaian women led 2-0 with goals from Faisa Ibrahim and Leticia Zikpi but Ethiopia’s Regina Zege ensured that the Ethiopians reached the next round with her consolation goal.
The Ghanaian men's team was also eliminated by Sudan last week.
